The Big Red Head series are patina paintings on bronze. 

The surfaces are built up with carved bronze bar stock and inlaid,

creating relief and definition. 

All of the colors of my limited palette are achieved

using heat and chemical formulas, no paint. 

The result is a mix of mask-making and iconography,

depictions of feminine complexity.
