As the process continues to improve with experience, the superfluous is eliminated and detail proportionate to the piece is retained. Working in series creates a slowly accumulating momentum, wearing away the non-essential to reveal what is primitive and authentic to a particular aesthetic. With each piece, with each series, I learn to recognize completion. I want my pieces to look ‘made’ and to retain evidence of my hand and thought.”
